This little gem was declared extinct in 1937. And in the 1950s, very small populations were found in a few small waterways at high elevations within their native range. Being able to catch one of these is a direct result from the state of Colorado. And without the help of humans, their populations would not be as strong as they are today! Colorodo's state fish, Greenback Cutthroat Trout.
