This groundbreaking animated superhero feature was initially viewed as an almost impossible gamble, with studio executives warning that it would take ten years and cost a fortune to produce.

Director Brad Bird defied expectations by bringing it to life on a $92 million budget, making history as Pixar’s first film comprised entirely of human characters, which required digital sculptors to study Gray’s Anatomy just to figure out realistic movement.

Interestingly, the production pushed technical limits so hard that the software for Violet’s long hair was only completed near the very end of production, and director Brad Bird personally voiced the iconic fashion designer Edna Mode after multiple auditions.

Despite the daunting technical hurdles, the film triumphed by winning two Academy Awards, grossing over $630 million worldwide, and cementing itself as a timeless masterwork of modern animation.

On Halloween 1994, we threw a release party at the Hollywood Castle to celebrate our new album, Youthanasia. We took over the airwaves that night too, bringing our "Night of the Living Megadeth" special straight into your living rooms on MTV. Where were you on that night? Happy Halloween everyone!
