یخچال‌ها و فریزرهای ده‌ها سوپرمارکت در هفت کشور اروپایی هدف حمله سایبری قرار گرفتند. حدود ۴۰ سوپرمارکت دُلِز در بلژیک و لوکزامبورگ تحت تاثیر این حمله قرار گرفتند اما در سوئد، ایرلند، هلند، استونی و فنلاند تعداد فروشگاه‌ها کمتر بود.
سابکوبل، شرکت سازنده بلژیکی که برخی از یخچال‌هایش هدف حمله قرار گرفتند، گفت که تبخیرکننده‌های [مایع سردکننده] این دستگاه‌ها به حالت یخ‌زدایی تغییر داده شدند و این باعث گرم شدنشان شد. تصور می‌شود این همان روشی است که صدها سوپرمارکت را در ماه اکتبر در فرانسه هدف قرار داد. رسانه‌های محلی در آن زمان گزارش دادند که میلیون‌ها یورو مواد غذایی دور ریخته شدند.
استفان مولانس، مدیرعامل سابکوبل، که سیستم‌های دُلِز را اداره می‌کند، روز دوشنبه به خبرگزاری بلگا گفت که این حادثه یک حمله سایبری بوده است و شرکت «تمام شب و صبح» کار کرده است تا دستگاه‌های تحت تاثیر را از شبکه قطع کند.
او گفت از زمان مورد حمله فرانسه در اوایل اکتبر، این شرکت برای «محافظت» از یخچال‌های مشتریان در مقابل این «آسیب‌پذیری» تلاش کرده است اما دستگاه‌ها به تغییرات فیزیکی نیاز داشتند نه صرفا به‌روزرسانی‌های نرم‌افزاری.
