Researchers documented an unusual sexual bond between a male donkey and a bull during fieldwork in Ethiopia.

The team was in the Ethiopian highlands to study gelada monkeys when they spotted Achille, a bull, and Patroclo, a male donkey, together in a nearby grazing area.

Over a number of days, Achille was seen mounting Patroclo. Mounting was documented 51 times, with 34 of the events resulting in intromission.

Another male donkey in the pasture flattened its ears and backed away when Achille tried the same thing. Patroclo never did, and appeared to present his hindquarters to the bull.

The pair also licked, rubbed and nuzzled each other more than they did other animals, and they spent most of their observed time close together.

According to the researchers, it appears to be the first documented case of a sustained same-sex sexual relationship between a bull and a donkey.

The observations show animal sexual behavior can be a more complex social phenomenon than we might realize, the team says.

WEEK 6 – HALLOWEEN WEEK! 🧚🏾‍♀️✨🎃

This year, my daughter helped me choose my Halloween costume because she didn’t want anything too gruselig! 😂❤️

And here’s your German word of the day: GRUSELIG means SCARY or SPOOKY in English! 🇩🇪

So instead of something frightening, I’m a fairy this year! 🧚🏾‍♀️✨

Halloween at Strictly Come Dancing is becoming more and more of an EVENT every year! The costumes, the creativity, the atmosphere, the transformations… it’s truly something special! 🎃✨

Now I want to know… Are you Team SCARY 👻 or Team FAIRY 🧚🏾‍♀️ this Halloween?

And what do you think of my daughter’s choice? 😂❤️
