Honoring those who came before us, celebrating the beauty of our culture and keeping their memories alive. ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿ’€ This Dรญa de los Muertos, Iโ€™m looking back on such a special experience walking the runway for @ilacatrina at @theshopsatlacantera in San Antonio! ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฝโœจ I had the honor of portraying Chalchiuhtlicue, the Aztec goddess of water, rivers and lakes, representing life, renewal, and the deep connection between nature and our ancestors. Every detail of this beautiful Catrina carried meaning and being able to bring her to life on the runway was something Iโ€™ll never forget. What made this experience even more special was seeing how art, fashion and tradition brought so many people together. From the runway to meeting and connecting with everyone afterward, it was a beautiful reminder that Dรญa de los Muertos is so much more than a celebration. Itโ€™s about love, remembrance and honoring the stories that live on through us. โค๏ธ Thank you @ilacatrina for allowing me to be part of something so meaningful and for keeping these beautiful traditions alive. Feliz Dรญa de los Muertos! ๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ #diadelosmuertos #sanantonio #catrina #runway #dayofthedead

Happy 19th bday to my little queen Ever!!! What an incredible journey youโ€™ve created for yourself in this life! Itโ€™s so amazing to watch you use all the tools you were exposed to so purposefully and expertly. Itโ€™s gratifying to any parent who wants their kids to appreciate the world around them. Then, see you add all that to your experiences everyday, learning, growing and evolving into the capable, resourceful and inspiring person you are today? Nothing could make me more confident of your present and future choices which ease the fear everyone has when their children grow up and go out into the world. Your beauty is of course impossible to ignore ๐Ÿคฏ but your interest in becoming a compelling, independent, passionate, cultured and disciplined human is a gift beyond comparison. You, in truth, have been a gift in every way. As a mother, you have brought me love in ways I couldnโ€™t imagine before you. As a friend, youโ€™ve been loyal and thoughtful even when I know it was difficult for you. As another soul I share this life journey with, you have both been my student and my teacher until now I can just admire you for who you have become, separate and unique, a powerful force of nature. The storm over the horizon has fully formed and now is about to be unleashed. My umbrella is out and my secret smile anticipates the effect you will have on the world around you. Xo mamachka
