For years, many McDonald’s interiors featured durable ceramic or quarry-style tiles designed to withstand heavy foot traffic, spills, grease, and constant cleaning. Their distinctive color and rectangular patterns made them instantly recognizable to anyone who grew up visiting the fast-food chain. Over time, McDonald’s began replacing many of its older restaurant designs with modern interiors featuring neutral colors, updated furniture, and different flooring materials.
