Ryan Speakman

The first time I learned this song, by Marta Keen, I was auditioning for All-West Tennessee choir in 7th . Just before I was called to audition, I ran out of the hall back to my mom, sobbing.

I told her I couldn’t do it. I was too scared.

She looked at me and said “Ryan, do you love singing?”

I said, “Yes”.

She said…”Then, you get in that room and you sing.”

…and, I did.

That night, my choir director called and told me I got first chair (alto 1).

20 something years later… I gotta say…I still love this song…and I still love singing (albeit in a much lower key…).
