In 1955, Autopia, a focal point of the Tomorrowland section of Disneyland, mirrored the real-life love affair that Americans were having with the automobile. But Disney’s vision of the future has run up against today’s environmental reality. Autopia, the only surviving original attraction at Tomorrowland, is in violation of California’s stringent emissions regulations. So now, after 71 years, Autopia is going electric.

The cars currently run on 8.5 horsepower Honda four-stroke engines. They are loud and belch exhaust for up to 16 hours a day. The result is a microclimate of smog hovering over Tomorrowland. Sometime next year, the gasoline powered engines will be phased out and Autopia will join the age of EVs.

This is the update I never wanted to give.

We have been told that our baby girl will not survive past birth.

There are no words for what it feels like to carry your child, feel her move, love her more deeply every single day, and at the same time be told that the life you imagined with her may never come.

I still catch myself dreaming about bringing her home.

About holding her in her nursery.

About watching her siblings love her.

About hearing her cry, seeing her eyes open, learning who she is.

And then I remember what we have been told.

It is a kind of heartbreak I did not know existed.

But this is what I do know:

She is still here.

She is still moving.

She is still our daughter.

And I am still her mom.

So until God writes the final sentence of her story, I will keep loving her, carrying her, praying over her, and believing that every single moment with her matters.

We are asking you to please keep praying for our baby girl.

Pray for life.
Pray for strength.
Pray for peace.
Pray for a miracle.

And pray that whatever comes, we will continue to know the presence of God in a way that carries us through every second.

I may not know what tomorrow holds.

But I know who holds her.

And no diagnosis, no prognosis, and no outcome can ever change this:

She is loved beyond measure.

She is wanted.

She is ours.

And I will be her mom forever. 🤍

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.”
Jeremiah 1:5
