xixi 溪溪

i knitted two hats for my grandparents (actually three because i made an extra one in case one didn’t fit). they were the ones who raised me and gave me my nickname xixi. i hadn’t seen them in over five years, and it was bittersweet. it made me happy to see my grandmother reach for her hat every time we went outside. colorwork pattern is @lmvchau’s xue (雪) hat with improv brim and decreases. it’s beautiful and the short floats are much much appreciated.
