maybe we don’t recognize how much we have and what a time we are in until suddenly it’s disappearing before our eyes. now, its gone and the world is so much darker.

if you ever had the privilege of experiencing Carter and I together (im so sorry), you know we were polar opposites. i was typically negative, scared out of my mind. Carter was put together and calm, getting me out of my own head. whether by genuine advice or a barking competition, Carter knew me better than most. without his laugh and random texts, this world is so much darker. memories come flooding back and knowing they’re just memories, realizing we wont take any more photos together, and having to write my own papers, will forever be at the forefront of my mind.

now, instead of texting “cartee eugena” i will wear a bracelet with his name. i will continue his mission in shouting at the top of my lungs, “ your life matters!!!”
