There are no words that can fully capture how deeply honored I was to be your granddaughter. God not only gave me a kind best friend, but a loving and happy "pop pop" to teach me. My heart is broken, but even in the midst of this heartache, I hold on to the truth that Jesus is still good, & still faithful. I find some comfort knowing that this is not goodbye, but simply โtil we meet again.โ Until that day, pop pop, I will carry you with me in every breath, every achievement, and every memory. I'm forever grateful for all those nursing home stays where I got to spend my time taking care of you. I never thought that last Sunday when you were trying your best to say "I love you", would be the last thing you said to me. Knowing that you passed with me right beside you brings me comfort that your in a better place. You were the light to my days and the bestest friend a granddaughter could ever have. You always loved and made sure everyone was okay. Maybe in another universe you'd watch me graduate, go to college, and get married; I just wish it was this one. Thank you for everything, I was beyond honored to be your granddaughter. I love you and I can't wait to hug you and hear your voice again.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
