In the late 1990s, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal began questioning the price of his signature basketball shoes after a mother confronted him about how expensive they were for ordinary families. Shaq later recalled that the encounter made him realise many of his young fans could not afford the sneakers carrying his name. Determined to make basketball footwear more accessible, O’Neal eventually developed affordable shoes sold through Walmart, with many models priced around $20 to $30. His budget friendly footwear became a major success, with Shaq claiming that hundreds of millions of pairs have been sold over the years. In 1998, O’Neal and Reebok parted ways, although contemporary reports described the separation as mutual. In 2021, Shaq said his affordable shoe business had sold over 400 million pairs, a figure that has not been independently verified. His decision helped establish a footwear brand built around the belief that every child deserves access to stylish, affordable sneakers, regardless of their family’s income. 🏀👟❤️

Misal.. kan misal..
I only own 3 pairs of shoes for the entire year. And nope, none of them are sneakers. 🙅‍♀️ Each pair was purchased secondhand, and I intentionally choose genuine leather because, unlike synthetic alternatives like vegan leather, it can be repaired and maintained for the long haul. This is my actual, year-round lineup for everything from hiking to going out for dinner. 👢 Knee-high boots – My daily workhorses for dust and trails. 🤍 White booties – My go-to for a polished look. 🩴 Flip flops – For warm days and quick transitions. Why no sneakers? My lifestyle just doesn't require them, so I don't own them. (Fine print: I do own specialized gear for seasonal mountain sports, including a pair of thrifted golf shoes I’ve used for mountain biking and water activities for 10 years. If it works, it works! 🤷‍♀️) The Takeaway: Notice what you actually reach for. The shoes at the front of your rack are your true essentials—the rest are just collecting dust. This lineup fits my climate and my style. Yours might look completely different, and that’s the beauty of it. ✨ Follow for practical minimalism, intentional style, and real-life capsule wardrobe tips—and to make sure you don't miss my upcoming post unveiling my full capsule wardrobe lineup! 👇 How many pairs of shoes do you actually wear? #CapsuleWardrobe #MinimalistLiving #YearRoundCapsule #MinimalistStyle #OutdoorsyLife
