Texas was on track to host more than 25% of all new U.S. data center capacity, but that plan just hit a major roadblock.

Voters elected Gina Hinojosa last night, making her the state’s first Democratic governor since 1990. She campaigned on freezing new data center builds and eliminating the tax incentives that attracted the industry in the first place.

Potential losers:
— CoreWeave ($CRWV): Operates AI data centers with significant Texas locations; shares dropped roughly 10% this morning.
— Oracle ($ORCL): Its major Stargate project with OpenAI is based in Abilene, Texas; stock fell about 2%.
— IREN ($IREN): Largest AI campuses under construction in Childress and Sweetwater, Texas, with its stock falling -11% today.

Potential winners:
— First Solar ($FSLR): Texas still faces massive power demand, and First Solar is the top U.S. manufacturer of panels for the large-scale solar projects needed to meet it.
— Sunrun ($RUN): The focus is shifting to residential electricity costs, and Sunrun specializes in rooftop solar systems that help homeowners cut their bills.
— Enphase ($ENPH): Supplies the inverters and battery storage used in home solar setups, so broader rooftop adoption in Texas could drive higher sales.

One election. One night. And the entire data-center map of America just shifted.

AD | Some things are simply too lovely to hide away. 🤎

I’ve always had a weakness for beautiful baskets. The sort that are as practical as they are lovely, that never go out of style and somehow make even a pile of logs look rather splendid.

These gorgeous baskets from @thebasketcompany have found their places around the Barn. Two for the logs, one for Elsie’s bed and, of course, another for her ever-expanding toy collection.

Because apparently even the dog requires beautifully coordinated storage. 🙄🤣

Beautifully made, wonderfully timeless and exactly the sort of pieces I know we’ll be using and loving for years to come.

Although Elsie is rather more interested in the contents than the craftsmanship. 🐾🤎
