Zoe Jackson

I never thought the time for me writing this would come so quickly as it did this season. This sport has become so much of my everyday life that the thought of it coming to an end never crossed my mind until recently. Basketball has brought me lifelong friendships, ups and downs, and overall an experience that I wouldn’t trade for the world.
I am glad to have been a part of great teams within my years of playing, middle school, AAU, high school, and now at the collegiate level, have shaped me into the woman I am today. I am so thankful for the laughs, the love, the late nights getting back from a long travel week, and just being able to share moments with my teammates who have came and went. I’m not saying goodbye, but I am grateful for all that I have been able to do during the 19 years of picking up an orange ball. My heart will always share a place with this sport, and it’s safe to say that the little girl who couldn’t shoot the ball on our church goal across the street because she was too short, is quite happy with where she ended up when it’s all said and done.
