“ATL HOE” the unreleased outro to my debut album Sundays in the Overflow. As I land the plane on this particular project, I’m overwhelmed with emotions. I held onto this unreleased track for a year, until I was finally finished touring the underacted version of my film. So while it’s new to you, I listen back and see all of the ways I’ve grown since writing and filming this, and I’m already light years better of a writer and performer. Having to hold onto art for strategic consumption has forced me to contend with older versions of myself and appreciate, value, and look tenderly upon my growth. You may see this and say “it’s fire tf is she talking about!?” Lol. And it is! I just have so much gratitude for the opportunity to invest in my work and continue to be a student and refine my craft and be present enough to notice. And I’m grateful to have the platform to share it with you as I go 🤞🏾. Here’s to many more poems, many more shows, and many more projects.
