“LO QUIERO YA” — Part 1 of 4. A passion project turned 4 part mini series created in just 11 hours of rehearsal & 6 hours on set. This whole project was a masterclass in surrendering perfection and trusting the raw energy of the moment. Endless costume, lighting, and scenic changes. It was pure, frenetic chaos in the best way possible. I’m still in awe that we pulled it off. It has been a long time since I felt a fire like this. The music of @ca7rielypacoamoroso woke up a part of me I thought had gone quiet, that deep, instinctual need to express what can only be translated through movement. As a choreographer whose work lives in the fusion of so many different worlds, finding music where all of those facets can coexist seamlessly is rare. Their art feels like home to me. We were a small, mighty crew of 3 doing the work of 12, alongside the absolute best group of dancers I have ever had the privilege to direct. Watching you all bond reminded me why I do this: the energy in the room is everything, and the art builds itself from there. @damistabu , we finally made our magic! Thank you for saying yes to this adventure and for letting me Steadicam your body to capture every frame exactly as it lived in my head. @mattied89 , we wouldn’t have crossed the finish line right on the dot without you on site; I adore you. Andrew at @boxofmoonlight_bk , thank you for providing the perfect location. Deepest love and gratitude to every single person who brought this vision to life. How I feel now that everyone thinks I’m 50 years old. Literally - I’ve had so many messages it’s nuts. Including from friends of mine. I was just trying to celebrate the incredible growth of @amolrajanconnection. Guys! Nothing against 50 year-olds! I love 50 year-olds. But I’m not really 50! What made you think I was?
The jump from 2 to 3 years old is WILD 🥹♥️ Watching my toddlers become more independent has been one of my proudest moments as a mom! Here are 7 Montessori-inspired things we’ve introduced in our home to help raise confident, independent little humans 1. A working play kitchen sink for washing hands and dishes 2. Their own cleaning supplies to help around the house 3. A child-height bookshelf to encourage independent reading 4. An accessible closet so they can pick out their own clothes 5. An indoor climbing gym to build confidence and coordination 6. A home for every toy to encourage cleaning up 7. Daily family nature walks to explore and make little choices Are we doing all of this perfectly? Absolutely not! 😂 But consistency is key. We’re slowly introducing one little thing at a time and practicing it daily. It’s amazing what toddlers are capable of when we give them the opportunity to try! The goal isn’t to do everything for our kids, but to help them feel confident doing things for themselves✨ Comment “KIDS” and I’ll send you a link to everything we use in our Montessori-inspired home to make independence part of our daily routine! #MontessoriAtHome #MontessoriToddlers #RaisingIndependentKids #ToddlerMom #IntentionalParenting
