‘Raindrops on Roses’ After years of painting roses for the greeting card market, I rarely paint them now. However, seeing how magnificent this one looked with raindrops glistening on its petals I was inspired; thinking it an ideal subject for a Ruby anniversary. The scent is delicious and it flowers throughout the summer. I felt the graphite foliage would make a great contrast to the vibrant magenta. When framed it will be quite large so I hope it will make a dramatic tribute to the SBA on their anniversary, hanging on the wall at The Mall Galleries. #perfect petals,#glittering raindrops#graphite leaves# magenta and grey# Sarah Raven#’ Rosa timeless purple’
