Princess Leia FTW! 👻 Is that what you chose in my poll yesterday??

Keep swiping! 🎃

How could I resist when my son decided to be a Stormtrooper?? (Next slide!)

This is sort of a recreation of a picture I took in 2002 - and yes I am actually wearing the exact same outfit; I've kept it all these years! (The 2002 pic is the last slide 👀.)

Aren't you a little tall for a Stormtrooper? 😋

We celebrated with great friends like @jason_priestley & @naydoggy (who has seen better days 🤣)

My gladiator! 🥰

Omg @naydoggy 🤣

My good friend @riley_weston (who I wrote my @greatamericanfamily Christmas movie with last year!)

My mom and her good friend!

Okay this was epic - by the end of the night, @johnelefantemusic singing (was the lead singer of the band Kansas) and @mikeverta playing piano...!

Belting out Beatles and Billy Joel songs with @johnelefantemusic while dressed up like Princess Leia was not on my Bingo card this year, but I'll take it!

There I am in 2002 wearing the same outfit and posing with a Stormtrooper. 😋 I guess some things never change. 😁

Thank you @mikeverta and @thelaurabethlove for a great party!

Hope your Halloween was fun and safe!! 👻🎃

“I’m just 16. I’m just enjoying the things teenagers do. Look at the way I dress, pang-teenager pa rin. I love to text; I love the kulitan part between friends.”

The last few heartfelt conversations I’ve had with people have left me thinking about how much uncertainty so many of us are carrying.

Behind familiar smiles are unfamiliar struggles. Behind “I’m good” are worries that keep people awake at night. So many people are silently trying to hold their lives together while wondering when things will finally get easier.

Yesterday, I came across several videos, one after another, of young people crying. Different faces and circumstances, but beneath their tears, I could sense they were all longing for the same thing: to be okay and know they’re going to be okay.

To be honest, I think that sometimes the hardest part of what we’re going through isn’t even the pain itself. It’s actually the uncertainty of not knowing how long it will last. We fear what comes next, and whether the life we’re hoping for is still going to manifest as we want it to.

I wish I could reach through the screen and gently remind every person who feels lost right now that their story is still unfolding. That this difficult chapter is not the whole book, and even when they cannot see a way forward, it doesn’t mean they won’t find one.

One practice that has carried me through some of my own darkest and most uncertain moments is prayer.

And it’s not always because prayer has changed my circumstances, but because it has often changed how I’ve been able to meet them. It has given me somewhere to place the weight of things I could no longer carry alone.

So today, I’d like to offer you a prayer. You don’t have to believe in anything to receive it. You don’t have to share my understanding of the divine. Just take whatever speaks to your heart, and leave whatever doesn’t.

And if life feels particularly heavy right now, I hope these words find the part of you that has been trying so hard to stay strong.
