And our serious speakers!
You’ve probably seen Grant Schieffer (Sr) performing in humorous events in the past, but this year he’s stepping outside of his comfort zone! Grant really threw us for a loop when at the beginning of the season he said, “I think I want to do serious.” However, his courage has paid off! In So I’ve Killed a Few People, Grant gets to show off his acting skills by acting like... well, a serial killer. We are so incredibly proud of Grant for choosing to step out of his comfort zone and for all his success this season.
There are many tragedies that happen in our world today. Rylie Arens’s serious focuses on a specific tragedy— the Nickel Mines school house shooting— in her portrayal of The Amish Project. Rylie’s passionate and powerful delivery will pull at your heartstrings. She has been fine tuning this speech for two years now, and the hard work has paid off! She’s created something really special with this speech and we are so incredibly proud of her.
Alexa Suing (Jr) has decided to venture into a new event this year-- serious! Her speech Normalcy features a teenager exploring the emotions that come with having a brother who murdered his mom. It’s been a new experience for Alexa and we are incredibly proud of her stepping out of her comfort zone to try something new.
