It been 1 week since I’ve had my tubes removed. I feel great I don’t regret my decision. I’m certain I won’t ever regret it. I’m grateful to have had an easy time with the surgery and recovery and I appreciate all the people in my life that helped me through this process. I love you

Thirteen years of family Halloween costumes. You’d think someone would have staged an intervention by now. 🐦🎃 This year, a few more than one Flew Over the Cuckoo’s nest. I’m stepping out of the cover of Bipolar Blonde, Brett as Randle McMurphy, and Olive as Nurse Ratched. Finally, an outfit to match her authority over her brothers. And the boys? Ace Ventura from the institution scene and # 5 Ray Finkle with LACES OUT, bringing a little Saturday football and a LOT of plot to an already complicated family theme. A memoir, two movies, five costumes. There’s a little more meaning beneath the theatrics this year. Having lived with bipolar disorder for 20+ years and written a book about some of my darkest chapters; I know mental illness deserves compassion, honest conversation, and absolutely no shame. I also know that my sense of humor has helped me through it all. Bipolar Blonde was born from the hope that a little glamour, a love story, and just enough dark humor might help make those conversations easier. The illness is real. The stigma needs to go. Our family’s commitment to a theme remains mildly alarming. Happy Halloween from our nest to yours. 🖤
