I’ve had lots of people ask who the vocalist is on Backtrack Blow Up… Surprise! It’s meeee! I wrote the lyrics, recorded them, then
@djfotn used AI and vocal processing to transform my voice, while keeping the human dialect and rhythm from the original recording. Apparently, all those school years of listening to UK grime and calling myself “Lady Titch” in the “G2 Crew” actually paid off 😂
As for my opinion on AI in music? If artists can use it to make things easier and speed up workflow, I’m all for it. Whether that’s coming up with track titles, proof-reading content, or, in this case, helping transition a vocal for a specific outcome. Even doing our life admin like taxes, so we can spend less time on that and more time creating! But if it’s being used to generate an entire track from scratch by just typing in a few words, I’m not so behind it. I feel like that takes away the human feeling and emotion behind the music. The sync button on CDJs already made everyone and their Nan a DJ, let’s not do the same with production!
Thank you @djfotn for helping me bring my vision to life 🫶🏼
