Homemade pie crust is 100x better than store bought, and ANYONE CAN BAKE IT! Today I’m walking you through the backbone of this holiday season: buttery flaky, homemade pie crust. This seemingly unimportant step in your dessert prep is one that is surprisingly easy, and SO worth the pay off.

And because I could talk about pie crust for approximately 7 hours but wont…😚 here are just FOUR more tips for making the flakiest, most buttery pie crust of your life:

1. VODKA. Swap it for ice water in your dough! Unlike water, alcohol doesn’t encourage gluten development in the same way, which means an even more tender, flaky crust.

2. DON’T WAIT TOO LONG TO ROLL IT OUT. My sweet spot is about an hour in the fridge. The butter is cold, but the dough is still pliable enough to roll without cracking. If you’re refrigerating overnight, let it sit on the counter briefly before rolling.

3. CHILL IT AGAIN AFTER SHAPING. Once your dough is in the pie dish and you’ve crimped the edges, pop it back in the fridge for at least 15 minutes. Re-chilling the dough helps prevent the crust from shrinking or losing its shape in the oven.

4. GIVE IT A LITTLE SHINE. Before baking, brush the exposed edges with heavy cream or an egg wash for a little extra golden shine. It’s such a small step, but makes your pie look SO much better.

And there you have it! Go forth and crust!

There have been “murmurs” that this could be Dak Prescott’s last season with the Cowboys, per Chris Simms

“There’s been murmurs that Dallas is at the end of their rope with Dak, things better turn around or he ain’t gonna be the QB there.”

My late afternoon at the beach🌊🥰

Better than any gift that can be wrapped. Family, friends, dancing, and the most majestic place all together. Thank you to @academieprincessegrace and @luca_masala_professional for welcoming Sylvie Win to the classes, rehearsals, magic places, lessons, and family that is APG. She treasured every minute, which was made so much sweeter by having her sister @ellaryday_szyndlar there.

We loved seeing and experiencing parts of Ellary Day’s new life as a full time Academie student in Monaco.

Sylvie Win was honored to take classes amongst such talented and focused dancers. It was so touching to see her embraced warmly; thank you to all the C4s and every student and faculty member. Thank you for all the corrections, opportunities to grow, and friendships. They even included her into their group Halloween costume and fun. Thank you especially to @athenahudance !

Thank you to her ballet big brother @nineczekk for always being so positive and wonderful. Thank you to Ellary Day for being the best big sister.

Toi, toi, toi to the APG dancers performing. You are all such phenomenal dancers. It’s a gift to watch you. We know you will all do so well.

Thank you to @yagp and Miss Larissa for seeing such potential in Sylvie Win and helping facilitate opportunities around the world to grow. One only can truly grow by being challenged and trying new methods/ways/skills.

Thank you to @nikolayworld @grishkoworld for all the support, leotards, warm up gear, and dance shoes.
