Despite being saved from a dangerous situation, the old man later points Haru out to Fire Nation soldiers, fearing he could face punishment for being associated with illegal earthbending. The betrayal leads to Haruโ€™s arrest and imprisonment on a metal-plated prison barge, leaving viewers frustrated by the old manโ€™s apparent lack of gratitude. The scene highlights the fear and oppression experienced by ordinary citizens under Fire Nation rule, while raising an uncomfortable question about survival: whether protecting yourself can ever justify betraying someone who risked their life to save you.

What a night. The Emmys were a reminder of how much work, sacrifice, patience, faith, and support it takes to get to a moment like this. Iโ€™m incredibly grateful for the nominations, for the people who believed in me, for the team that helped me show up as my best self, and for everyone who has been part of the journey along the way. There are a lot of long days behind a night like this. A lot of people. A lot of love. I donโ€™t take any of it for granted.
