It’s not over ‘til it’s over. @nycmarathon 🥈😤 Had to tell myself this more than times than usual yesterday. It wasn’t a day where I felt perfect, but it didn’t need to be. @mountainroche and I had a pre-race call before I left for NYC and his advice was “just be Jess.” I don’t think he knew that something so simple could give me so much confidence. There was no over-engineering or overanalyzing anything. I stacked a lot of imperfect, grindy bricks at altitude and in the AZ heat this summer. The workouts that I thought were pretty “meh” or a “check the box/get it done” type days ended up being the ones that David said made me better, not the workouts where most splits/reps/things went to plan. All that was left to do was get to NYC healthy, enjoy it all, take whatever the race had to throw at me, and “just be Jess” through all five boroughs. • • • I sent David a DM two years ago after the NYC Marathon after being a fan of him, Megan, and the pod for quite sometime. He was so gracious with his time and lent an ear when I needed it the most. I told him I wanted to get better, but keep it fun. I don’t think a lot of coaches would care about that second part as much as the first. But he did. It has been a very fun two years of working together and discovering my best self. I owe a lot of this to him. So @mountainroche… just keep being you, too! Thank you to the @nyrr team (Dorian, Sam, Christine, everyone!) for taking a chance on us and making NYC feel like home. The @brooksrunning fam helped us share our unique journeys to NYC. The love at Brooks runs so deep and I feel so lucky. Thanks to Connor, my Dad, and my besties for making me feel like I can full send it and they would still love me even if it all went sideways. & thanks to @set4go_llc for getting me to every start line healthy the last 4 years. Congrats to @sheilachepkiruiken & @hellenobiri… thank you for getting the best out of us all yesterday. Can’t say thank you enough for all the sweet messages I have received. Down bad crying on the plane reading through them all. I love this sport so much! Left it all on the field on my way to a WMM podium!! 😭 📷: @katrinagaisford

**CLARK FOX: BEYOND OBEDIENCE 🎨** Spanning nearly six decades, *Beyond Obedience* explores the distinctive practice of American artist Clark V. Fox, whose work moves between abstraction, Pop art, political painting and cultural critique. Drawing on American history, Indigenous heritage and symbols of consumer culture, Fox challenges established narratives through bold imagery, satire and recurring visual motifs. Curated by Jane Livingston, the exhibition traces Fox’s artistic journey, from his early association with the Washington Color School to his increasingly political and culturally charged works. **Image-wise details:** **Image 1:** Clark Fox — Exhibition portrait. **Image 2:** *The Running Fox I* (1990) Oil on canvas | 12 × 9 in. FLORAL PARK, Long Island (WABC) — Nassau County authorities say they have uncovered multiple “ghost pharmacies” that allegedly billed Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance companies for expensive medications that were never provided to patients. According to Nassau County authorities, Jericho Express RX, Inc. on Jericho Turnpike in Floral Park and RNJ Pharmacy, Inc. on Guy Lombardo Ave. in Freeport were operating as so-called “phantom pharmacies.” District Attorney Anne Donnelly says the businesses showed few signs of functioning as legitimate pharmacies. “In reality, anyone trying to access these businesses is met with locked doors, covered windows, empty shelves, and inconsistent business hours,” says Donnelly. “The doctor’s identity was stolen,” Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said. “and then they stole identities from patients, and then wrote prescriptions for those patients.” According to authorities, the alleged scheme benefited two suspects who each made millions of dollars before leaving the country. “They’re like, ‘Hey, here’s my name, but I’m leaving before you even catch me,’” Ryder said. According to police, the operation generated about $8 million in pharmaceutical billings and resulted in approximately $5 million in payments. Police identified the suspects as Bakhodir Mirodimov of Uzbekistan and Abdilakim Berdikulov of Kurdistan. Authorities said Mirodimov made off with $3 million in 31 days, while Berdikulov left with $5 million. “They both were issued New York State drivers licenses. They both used those drivers licenses to open up their corporation,” Ryder said. Authorities have filed felony charges against the corporations involved, officials said. The two suspects have already left the country, and Nassau County has enlisted federal assistance as the investigation continues. Officials said they are working to address what they believe is a problem that extends beyond the two storefronts and impacts taxpayers throughout the region.
