Over the past 8 years I have been constantly on the go for work, moving throughout North America managing projects, which was an incredible experience, but it also meant not having a sense of “home”. My personal belongings always packed up in storage and only having my “essentials” with me.
During that time I lost touch with film photography and had my film camera stashed away in storage. Fast forward 8 years later, I have a home, a base that I can call my own and finally unpack my belongings; one of which was the cheap old camera that got me into photography as a teenager. I bought my Nikon F 801S and a 35-80mm lens for about 50$ before heading out on a school trip to Cambodia. Reconnecting with this camera has been a blast and has ignited my photography again and getting creative. A camera that has no bells and whistles, a lens that is not tack sharp (but has character) and I’m stoked to get out and shoot with it.
I’ve also got a box of prints from all the photos I took 15+ years ago and what an amazing experience to hold those photos, none digitized and they bring back amazing memories and feelings. Get your photos printed - you won’t regret it!
I have a few recent rolls I’m stoked to share. This is shot on expired Illford 400 with some post editing.
If you made it this far, I appreciate you 👊!
