✨ Lowana Davies’ Falls Farm Artist Residency ✨🌿
“My time at The Falls Farm was so much more than just a residency – it was a space of experimentation and flow, and the birth of new friendships. The scents and tastes of Yuzu, mandarins, lemons, limes and oranges on the breeze all sparked my imagination.” - Lowana Davies
Nestled in the lush hinterland of Mapleton on Jinibara Country, Lowana has been diving deep into the earthy, sensory magic of Falls Farm, creating site-responsive works that explore the world through scent, sound and touch.
Between mornings helping out on the farm and afternoons spent crafting olfactory installations, Lowana is in full flow - getting her hands dirty, sharing knowledge with farmers, and breathing in the sweet, grounding scent of petrichor (rain!!)
As a result of her residency, Lowana will be conducting the newest iteration of her work ‘Catching a Whiff’ on May 4 – a free, immersive experience blending art, science, smell and performance (plus music by Tom Lyons @tjclyons) across the farm’s vibrant landscape.
If you didn’t manage a ticket for this sold out event, don’t worry! Make it up with the Supperclub Mapleton Dining Experience, where Lowana and chef Cameron Matthews team up to take you from farm to plate in the most delicious way possible 🍽️🎶
This is such an exciting moment in Lowana’s creative journey – a beautiful collision of art, nature, food, and connection.
You can read all about it in the latest @frankie magazine feature 👉 https://www.frankie.com.au/article/lowana-davies-wants-to-take-you-on-an-adventure-of-olfactory-sensations---plus-win-horizon-tickets-616239
Expect laughter, conversation, connection – and of course, a few smells you’ve never experienced before.
