Introducing our 2026 Palm Beach philanthropy cover star, Amanda Hearst of WELL/BEINGS. Hearst has mastered the art of the intimate impact. Perhaps one of the most profound aspects of philanthropy is its innate domino effect—its full-circle moments. For Hearst, co-founder of WELL/BEINGS—a charity dedicated to addressing underserved environmental issues that impact animals, people, and the planet as one—the interconnectedness of all living beings sits at the heart of her work. From the Bolivian rainforest to the mangroves of Palm Beach County, Hearst is making a true difference. Me and @julie_warner documented the entire process of shaving my head for your viewing pleasure. I’ve wanted to try buzzing my hair since I was a teenager, and I’m so happy I finally worked up the courage. I feel so beautiful.❤️❤️❤️ . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #shavedhead #buzzcut #buzzed #shorthair #shorthairgirl
A thousand people came together to make those moments happen. A thousand people who stayed up day and night, to either call an ambulance or arrange for food and water or emergency medicines or anything and everything. Doctors and health staff who didn't sleep or rest for days and nights together. On ORS and protein bars we kept going on and there was something strong in the air, in the vibes, in the fire shared. I started believing in humanity again. It restored my faith in kindness, love, empathy, joy, care and most importantly that the fire is still intact in us to unite and fight the oppressors.
