2027: Nigerians Are Worried About Survival, Not Igbo Presidency In 60 Years – Barrister Agubuzu Replies deputy speaker of the house of rep. Kalu A chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Barrister Peter Agubuzu, has described as “misplaced” the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu’s remark that the Igbo cannot wait 60 years to become President for just four years. Kalu made the remark while criticising South-East stakeholders advocating a single four-year presidential term for the region, reportedly referring to NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi’s promise to serve only one term if elected. Speaking at an APC women’s rally in Enugu on Saturday, Kalu said: “Let me say this: some people are going around telling us that they have made an agreement that Igbos will go for the Presidency for four years, as the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, had said he would serve as Nigeria’s President for only four years if he is elected.” Reacting on Sunday, Agubuzu challenged Kalu to focus on Nigerians’ economic hardship rather than the debate over a 60-year wait for an Igbo President. He said: “While Nigerians across the country are chanting ‘Tinubu Must Go’ because of the economic hardship they are experiencing and their fear of a worsening economic crisis if Tinubu is re-elected, our brother, the Deputy Speaker is talking about 60 years. “He forgot that Obi’s primary objective is to transform Nigeria from consumption to production to lift millions out of poverty. This why Nigerians are chanting Tinubu Must Go.” Agubuzu added: “What Nigerians are saying is straightforward: Peter Obi should come and salvage the country from the impending economic disaster they fear will follow if President Tinubu is re-elected. Nigerians are worried about their survival, their livelihoods and the future of their children. That is the urgent issue before us—not a speculative debate about waiting 60 years for an Igbo President.” He argued that the single-term debate should be considered in the context of zoning, national unity, equity and political inclusion.

A sign that you've finally learned not everyone deserves access to your peace. You've learned that being alone is far better than being in a relationship that constantly drains your energy, disturbs your peace, and makes you question your worth. And the beautiful thing about growth? You stop being afraid of being alone. You start being afraid of losing yourself in the wrong company. Because loneliness is temporary, but losing yourself trying to keep someone can cost you so much more. You don't need someone just to fill a space in your life. You deserve someone who adds to the beautiful life you're already building. Never lower your standards just because you're tired of being alone. The right love will never require you to sacrifice your peace. If this resonates, this page is definitely for you. Here’s a snippet from the squat component of my recent Strength System seminar in Brisbane. I noticed @lockedinperformance_ performing a stiletto squat with an exaggerated heel elevation, but using a low bar position. His technique wasn’t bad. In fact, it was quite good. But his bar position wasn’t ideal for what he was trying to achieve. The objective of a stiletto squat is to maximise knee flexion and quadriceps involvement. Elevating the heels allows the knees to travel further forward while maintaining a more upright torso. Why is this important? Because the further the knees travel forward relative to the barbell’s line of force, the greater the moment arm at the knee joint, increasing the demand on the quadriceps. This is where bar position matters. A low bar position generally requires more forward torso lean to maintain balance. This shifts the hips backwards, increasing the moment arm at the hip while reducing it at the knee. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it’s one of the reasons a low bar squat can be so effective for lifting heavier weights. But if your objective is to maximise quadriceps development, why deliberately compromise the position you’re trying to create? When I asked the lifter what he was trying to achieve, his answer was exactly what I expected, “quads”. We moved the bar into a high bar position, and immediately he was able to achieve a more upright squat with greater forward knee travel. But wouldn’t a front squat be even better? Not necessarily. A front squat allows a similarly upright torso, but the front rack position can limit how much weight you’re able to lift. A high bar squat can achieve a very similar torso position and range of motion, while generally providing a stronger platform to support heavier loads. Squatting is about understanding the objective of the exercise and selecting the technique that best achieves it. If your goal is to lift the heaviest weight possible, a low bar position is advantageous. If your goal is to maximise quadriceps development, a high bar squat with elevated heels is one of my favourite options.
