With the Easter at the door, I want to share with you the interesting fact that Easter time have been already celebrated already thousands years ago by ancient Egyptians.
At that time these celebrations - which exactly coincide with nowadays Easter time - were called “Shemu” festival and were dedicated to celebrate the arrival of spring.
This ancient tradition is still alive in today’s Egypt while we celebrate the national holiday called “Sham En Nessim” - which means “the fresh breeze of spring air”.
Thus the ancient Shemu festival, the Sham En Nessim national holiday and the Easter Monday are all being celebrated at the same day.
So happy Shemu, happy Sham En Nessim and happy Easter dear InstaFabs!
P.S. The spring breeze is really strong at the pyramids as you can see…
