Happy International Book Day.
(Don Quixote’s anniversary of death)
Canada’s most legendary indie bookstore was real: the Highway Bookstore, hidden off Highway 11, claimed to hold over 300,000 titles—so many, people joked it was fed by the Library of Babel.
It’s gone now. But the books weren’t lost. The property bought by a mining exploration company, and the books were hidden from nature in 5 x 40 foot sea containers…
Box from Babel is the sole distributor of its remaining archive—sold exclusively in curated mystery boxes.
Tomorrow at Reading Rave 5 (KW Art Gallery), we tell the story, give you a chance to dive into the some of the archive, and for those interested you can purchase your own little box of books from the Library of Babel.
Event’s full, but you can still join the waitlist. Link in bio.
