Two intimate portraits in my most personal spaces by one of my favorite photographers and sweetest friends @whateveradolfo 🫂🧚🏻♀️♥️🦋🌀🌪️
Usually I’m the one documenting a moment and it’s rare I’m ever in front of the camera (that’s not my own controlled selfie or banner painting Timelapse documentation) so this whole experience was such a treat! I don’t like being photographed usually, especially while out and about candid style. Something about the snap and go energy of so much shit that floods my feeds lately feels ungenuine and lacks intentionality and I don’t want to be part of it. I don’t want to be remembered in those ways.
The ceremony of being with a friend who’s also an artist and being intentional with time and planning composition and thinking about lighting and color and trying to keep Blus attention (lol) and trying to keep me from being nervous and tensing up and most of all the ceremony of doing it all in my safe spaces ~ my home studio and bedroom ~ in my pjs with my baby Blu ~ surrounded by my art and paints and pillows and archive of things that make me, me ~ was so exciting to try! This is how I want to be remembered! This portrait experience was so special to have, thank you Adolfo!!! Portraits to show my kids one day ♥️
More to say always about art and portraiture and the care it takes to document time but will save that art brain mush for another day. Until next time!
