What is your strategy for reading series with releases very spread out?
•
I usually am a rereader. I prefer to reread as much as I am able before continuing with a series. Lately though I have been questioning this strategy, especially as a mood reader!
•
I know some people take notes, others that I know just remember the first book (but how!?), some don’t read series until they are complete, so I was wondering what you all do
•
I have a terrible memory for details and once we hit 2+ years between books, even my memory for vibes has usually failed me 😂 theres way too many series I need to continue but definitely need a refresher first.
•
Sometimes I love a refresher, other times I feel annoyed with my brain and just want to dive into something new.
•
Hope you all are doing well! I am nearing the end of another school year, so I’m buckling down for a wild ride for these last few weeks until kids are done!

I don’t have a consistent strategy. If it’s a complicated book that I loved, I’ll probably reread. If the plot was simpler and I can find a recap, I might dive right in. Sometimes I’ll read a first book, and then wait until the series is finished to reread and continue on.

Forget everything and then rawdog the latest book while being very confused for the first couple chapters lol

If they are really far apart I might do a reread

Often I'll try to wait until at least a few are out, but otherwise I look up plot summaries of the previous book! I enjoyed this one...

Amina can be read as a stand alone, tho

I usually don’t read it until the series is finished and then I binge read it🤭

I do a mix of reading a recap if one is available or listen to the audio, or do a quick reread.

Depends. Sometimes I reread, sometimes I just wing it and go for the sequel. Sometimes I wait and read them back to back ❤️

It depends for me! Some books stick in my brain better than others so I don’t have to reread, but then there are also books that I just don’t feel like rereading so I dive into the next book and hope for the best haha. Whenever I can, I reread on audio so I can save my daily physical reading time for new books.
