💀🌼 A little history, a lot of culture, and a whole lot of heart. ❤️ Celebrated November 1st and 2nd, Día de los Muertos is a beautiful Mexican tradition honoring loved ones who have passed. Through ofrendas (altars), marigolds, photographs, candles, favorite foods, and family gatherings, generations come together to remember those who will always be part of their story. Did you know that Carlsbad’s Barrio is one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods? Dating back to the early 1900s, the Barrio became home to Mexican families who came north during the Mexican Revolution, seeking safety, opportunity, and work in Carlsbad’s agricultural fields. By 1918, some of the neighborhood’s first families, including the Ramirez and Trejo families, had begun putting down roots. Over generations, they built homes, businesses, churches, and a close-knit community that helped shape the Carlsbad we know today. Long before Carlsbad became the coastal destination we recognize today, the Barrio was at the heart of its story. And traditions like Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) remind us why preserving cultural heritage matters. It’s not about forgetting those we’ve lost. It’s about keeping their memories alive. 🌼 This season, we’re taking a little walk through the Barrio to celebrate the places, people, traditions, and history that make Carlsbad special. Because there’s more to Carlsbad than beautiful beaches. There’s a story behind every neighborhood. ❤️ Support local. Celebrate culture. Know your history. 📍 Carlsbad Barrio, California #CarlsbadNow #CarlsbadBarrio #DiaDeLosMuertos #DayOfTheDead #CarlsbadHistory NorthCountySanDiego SupportLocal CarlsbadCalifornia

@holausa ! I was so honored to receive the “Latino de Corazon” Award at the fantastic Hola 100 Latin Powerhouse Awards last night at the Arsht Center @arshtcenter in Miami, Florida! This award is given to a non-Latin person in recognition for their dedication to the Latino community! The award was presented to me by the fabulous philanthropist Adrienne Arsht @adriennearsht who received the award last year. I cannot thank @holausa and @holacom enough for this wonderful Award! I thank @adriennearsht as well for her beautiful presentation! I love the Latino people and Latino communities and all the wonderful contributions they make to this world. It is my great honor and pleasure to serve on different charities boards that work specifically with Latino communities both in the United States and in other countries! To my fellow honorees, I congratulate all of you for your well deserved honors! Scroll through for my first photos. More to follow. Now underway at the European Parliament, Prince Reza Pahlavi and François-Xavier Bellamy MEP, Vice-Chair of the European People’s Party (EPP) Group, will hold a joint press conference on the growing threat posed by the Islamic Republic to Europe and the urgent steps Europe can take to support the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom. They will be joined by Danial Eyvazi, a survivor of the January 2026 massacar, as well as Sara Sadeghi Mohseni and Arsalan Khoubi-Pour, whose brothers were killed by the regime’s security forces. Europe will hear directly from a survivor, and from the families of those whose voices the Islamic Republic tried to silence.
