Revolut engineers were spending up to $10,000 a month on AI tools. Now the company says it has cut its AI coding costs by 90%. The fintech has moved much of its coding workload from Anthropic's Claude Code and OpenAI's Codex to GLM-5.3, an open AI model developed by Chinese company Z.ai. Instead of paying for access through external providers, Revolut runs the model on 56 NVIDIA B200 GPUs, serving around 2,000 engineers. According to Revolut's AI operations lead, the company now spends roughly $0.30 per million tokens, about one-tenth of what it previously spent on Anthropic and OpenAI. The company also reports a 60% improvement in coding time and a 70% improvement in the time needed to deliver software changes. Revolut still uses Claude Code, Codex and Gemini for certain tasks, but its own GLM system now handles much of the work. Safe to say this could become a nightmare situation for OpenAI and Anthropic if more companies start switching to Chinese AI models. What are your thoughts on this? 🤔💬
I haven’t believed in miracles ever …. Everrrrrrr. No matter what i believed in though I hoped for one for the last 15 months & still do somehow. I don’t know what the next hour looks like, tonight looks like, tomorrow looks like, next month looks like. But I am grateful for everyone who has been here day in & day out for us. Days at a time. Slept on our floor or our couch. Marcel can’t give an update right now but if he could it would be something along the lines of “I’m still alive” … I don’t know what we are going to do w out him. I don’t know how we go on from this. I said when my dad died my biggest regret was NOT accepting he was passing when he was. Even to this very second how can I accept something like this is going to happen to the person I’m supposed to be with for at least another 40-50 years. We are just starting out, we are just starting to build the life of our mf dreams. I don’t get it.
You could see how heartbroken Tashi was when Neha’s parents said he was using her. 💔 He never treated her feelings as a game. His emotions were real, and seeing his love questioned like that was truly painful. Not every love story is a game, and not every feeling is a strategy.
