Happy Father’s Day to my dad. He’s not on social media, he doesn’t even text lol, so he won’t even see this. But I just wanted to share how much I love him. We just talked on the phone and reminisced about going fishing when I was a kid and how much work it was cleaning our catch just for a few bites. But nothing ever tasted so good, and life felt so simple, safe and pure, just being with my dad. I wish I wasn’t so far away. Happy Father’s Day, Dad. I love you. ❤️

Thousands of people from Meitei, Naga and other indigenous communities took to the streets across Imphal, Senapati and Chandel on October 31, demanding government accountability amid continuing unrest in Manipur. The rallies were organised by civil society groups, with protesters calling for the scrapping of the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement with Kuki militant groups.

The protesters also demanded the withdrawal of Assam Rifles from conflict-affected areas, the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) using 1951 as the base year, and the safe resettlement of internally displaced families. Organisers accused the authorities of failing to protect indigenous communities and restore lasting peace.

At a public convention in Imphal, the rally adopted resolutions demanding the removal of Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen, warning that the state government should resign if the demand was not met. The demonstrations come amid renewed tensions in a state that has been grappling with ethnic violence since May 2023.
