So I visited my Mother, Father and brother today at the family plot. My father is a world war 2 veteran. This guy went in the Navy at the age of 17. Just turned 17 and needed a letter from his mom. My respect for him is huge. I still get goose bumps when I think of that.
Also visited my uncle red who was an explosive expert in army. My godfather Steve And great great grandparents.
As I was leaving an old woman was flagging me down. She looked like she was 90+. I asked her if everything was ok? She said she bought plants and she didn’t think the water spigot works, she has been trying for 1/2 hr. I left my truck in street and got out to open spigot for her, it was difficult but was on. She had 1 pot of flowers and asked if I could water them. She was struggling in her trunk, I walked over and she had 2 more plants. She then said she wanted to plant them but she’s unsure if she would be able to gut up if she tried. I grabbed my gloves and a small spade and asked her what stone. As I was digging the holes she was telling me about her father that was in world war 1 and how beautiful her mother was. She asked that I plant the blue one on left and the red one on right. Said her mother loved these blue flowers and her dad loved the red ones. And said the red ones cost her $25 bucks. But she didn’t bat an eye. The white ones she asked me to plant on the next stone for her brother. As I was digging the holes she was telling me about how lovely her brother was. She asked if I was visiting family too? I told her my mom,dad and brother. She smiled at me and said I’m a wonderful person. I put the tools away when she walked up to me and was trying to give me $10 dollars. I told her I did it from my heart, that she should give it to someone she knows that needs money. She looked puzzled like she was thinking in her mind. She smiled and said, I know!! I’ll give it to the church. I realized she just needed someone to chat with. Maybe she don’t have family? Don’t know. But glad she waved me down.

That is such a beautiful story and such a kindness Greg. Thank you for sharing your story and helping the woman who is probably still thinking of your kindness. ❤️❤️❤️
