Wrote this a little over a year ago 🎵 been on my mind lately.

What kind of person just walks on by
When they see somebody hurting they don’t bat an eye
What kind of person goes to bed just fine after seeing the destruction of innocent
life
Somebody like me
Me and you
-
What kind of change is gonna make the difference
Throw a wrench in the machine far enough to fix it
How loud we gotta scream before they listen
What kind of person takes on that mission
Somebody like me
Me and you
-
When the sun goes down and a new day comes
We can choose to stay the same or we can follow the love
Straight out of bounds… see where that leads us
Into the arms of ones with nothin
into the streets with the hearts still lookin for somethin
At the interstate light on 4th under the overpass
We are the good…. But we’re also the bad
-
What kind of person stays up all night
over thinking every aspect of every day life
Driving themselves mad til they get things right
Neglecting the moments that keep us kind
Somebody like me…
Me and you
-
When the sun goes down and a new day comes
We can choose to stay the same or we can follow the love
Straight out of bounds… see where that leads us
Into the arms of the ones with nothin
into the streets with the hearts still lookin for somethin
At the interstate light on 4th under the overpass
We are the good…. But we’re also the bad
-
What kind of person just keeps going
when the odd are stacked against them and everybody knows it
Somebody like me… somebody like you
