Rollie and I decided it's a backyard knitting sort of day! It feels like I've been waiting forever for this weather. But the sunshine is here, my flowers are blooming, and I'm ready with a bright, comfy, new pad for my old chair to lounge outside and knit the afternoon away.

My long-term project these days is this large throw blanket by designer Meghan Ballmer. I'm modifying by using double strands of a lighter weight yarn that the recipient prefers, but the gauge is the same, and the resulting fabric is pleasantly squishy and warm enough for Eastern Oregon winters. The 4-row pattern design adds enough interest to keep me engaged, as well as enough repetition to make it easy to remember. I just finished the first third of the project, so here's hoping I can follow through all the way.
