Commentary:

I wanted to create a special animated card to compliment the release of Persona 5 The Phantom X game in 2025.

I decided the animated card should be short and simple to respect the audience's time. I crafted an original quote which is meant to reflect the core theme of the Persona 5 world; which is choices and freedom.

Although the song is for Persona 4. I felt the lyrics and feel were relevant to the theme I was going for; which is choices and freedom. I intentionally chose the specific lyrics within the song and timed it precisely for title card into quote transistion into the one shot of Ren at the end.

This timing was done to reflect the emotions of Ren Amamiya's/Joker's (solo character at the end) journey, background and the events of the original Persona 5 Anime + Persona 5 games(Persona 5 Royal + Persona 5 Scramble) leading up to Persona 5 the Phantom X.

The story of Persona 5 revolves around choices and how that emotion is manifested.

Lastly, I intentionally chose Ren's human form at the end rather than Persona form to make the concept of freedom more reletable to him to the audience(you).

There are other little details in the reel video. Did you notice a major one? 🤔

Thank you for reading.
