Let me tell you a little about our story…

We met at school, roughly 3 1/2 years ago. Kelly was in her second year as I was just beginning my journey. Kelly became a mentor to me very quickly as I am directionally challenged and without her I would’ve been in the wrong building for every class.

Kelly showed me how to deal with the stress and pressure of a doctoral level program along with how to still keep my sanity.

We started off as friends, she would show up to my rugby matches and scream “put him in the game coach” as I sat my rear on the sideline my first year. in return… I basically followed her everywhere and I became the person she played: beat in card/ board games, went on walks and developed a coffee addiction with.

Our relationship became an actual dating relationship at a seminar called “Inner Winners”. Where we both had the courage to say we wanted to give it a try. An incredibly challenging decision as Kelly would graduate and move to Florida to follow her career path.

We spent very long year doing distance, which was rough at the time. The distance allowed us in a strange way to become closer, you value the time you have with your partner even more when it is limited.

Fast forward to the year ending and Kelly moved back up to GA, because she missed me!!! Jokes aside, she wanted us to be in the same place and she moved back up to GA for that to happen.

To sum it up because I’m rambling, over the past years of being each others person, we have made each other a better person. I am so proud, excited and honored to say that Kelly Peterson is my Fiancée.
