Ever since the hip thrust became big in the industry, there’s been at least one grown man that goes to sleep crying hysterically every night on account of its popularity. It’s so strange to me. Right now it’s definitely this guy Amir. But I digress. This is a rather silly argument, but I’ll entertain it just because I’m bored and this is fun for me to reminisce. The popular coaches 20 years ago were all of my colleagues. We spoke at the same seminars and were respectful to one another. Some coaches loved the hip thrust more than others, but I don’t think anyone hated it. They at least had a variation they liked prescribing and agreed that strengthening end-range hip extension was a good idea. I’ll tag these guys below in case any feel like chiming in. @ericcressey @coachdanjohn @michael_boyle1959 @jcsantanaihp @themartinrooney @jayferruggia @zevenesh @smittydiesel @defrancosgym joedowdellnyc @christian.thibaudeau.thibarmy @charlesstaley @drchadwaterbury @benbrunotraining @liftrunbang1 @coachleeboyce @tonygentilcore @nick_tumminello I know I missed some folks but the point is, Amir is full of it. Also, I miss the good old days! How many of you were T-Nation readers like me?
