Kidn@ppers Abduct Six Mourners, Abandon Deceased Woman’s Body on Highway in Benue Six mourners, including the husband of a deceased woman, have been kidn@pped while transporting her remains for burial in Benue State. The incident occurred at about 8 p.m. on Friday, October 30, along Adoka Road in Otukpo Local Government Area of the state. Reports indicate that the woman d+ed in Kano, and her husband, alongside five other mourners, was conveying her body to Okpoga in Okpokwu Local Government Area for burial when armed men intercepted their vehicle. The assailants abducted all six occupants and took them into the bush, leaving the deceased woman’s body abandoned on the highway. Officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps discovered the body on Saturday and took it to the police station in Adoka before it was later transferred to a morgue. Confirming the incident, the Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Area, Maxwell Ogiri, revealed that the kidn@ppers were demanding a ransom of ₦15 million for the victims’ release. He added that security operatives, local vigilantes and youths had launched efforts to track down the abductors and secure the safe release of the six victims.
