I wonder if there’s a shape that would make the sound less tinny. One thing I’ve heard is, if you make the sound go through a narrow opening that then opens much wider, that that can make a difference. I put my phone on the windowsill when I’m taking a shower and it somehow amplifies the bass a lot without sounding tinny.
