A portfolio project gets stronger when it starts with a real problem, not a blank page and a model you want to use. In this walkthrough, I share five places to find ideas: startup concepts, data challenges, space research, technical competitions, and open food data. Pick one question that interests you, define what your project should produce, and decide how you’ll check whether it works. A small project with a clear result can show more than a sprawling demo. Which of the five would you build from first? Tell me in the comments. Comment “project” to get the links of all 5 websites directly in your DM
🚨 “THE NOVEMBER SURPRISE THAT NO ONE WILL EVER FORGET” @KayleighMcEnany reacts as Democrat Haley Stevens pulls her endorsement of Abdul El-Sayed and backs Republican Mike Rogers: “I want to know what’s going through [El-Sayed's] mind right now.” “Politics is a game of addition. But Abdul El-Sayed was looking at subtraction” — with Stevens, her campaign co-chair and fiancé all backing Rogers. Kayleigh argues El-Sayed’s refusal to renounce past antisemitic statements sent Jewish voters a message: “You are not welcome.”
WhatsApp dominates messaging across much of Europe, Latin America, Africa, and South Asia, while other regions have developed their own preferences. WeChat leads in China, LINE is especially popular in Japan and Thailand, KakaoTalk dominates South Korea, and Telegram has a strong presence in Russia and parts of Eastern Europe. Facebook Messenger remains surprisingly popular in several countries, including the Philippines, Sweden, Canada, and Australia. A 2025 survey found that 90.6% of internet users in the Philippines had used Messenger within the previous month. However, rankings vary depending on whether popularity is measured by downloads, active users, or survey responses, so no single map tells the complete story.
