And when people are told to stop discharging firearms unnecessarily at events they won’t listen.🤦🏾‍♀️ Just look at this.

Cheers to you and this group project we call democracy! We have a lot of work to do but go ahead and take some time for rest and celebration. At least that’s what I’m going to do!

15 years ago, I had a silly little blog about US elections (that absolutely nobody read 😅)… I was thinking about it a lot this week as, all this time later, it really means a lot to be reporting on the US midterms as a correspondent in DC. To have the chance to get out on the road, follow the issues, delve into what matters to people and try to get a sense of how the country is feeling at a moment when both parties are at a crossroads. I’m always grateful when people give up their time and share their views… from Iowa, Texas, Florida, Maryland and Virginia… and even here in DC. It was great to have @fergalobrien_ and the Morning Ireland team across the Atlantic throughout the madness. Always thanks to my sidekick @zagorski.artur!! 🎥 Now, I suppose, the 2028 presidential election begins… an open field for both parties. The Midterms certainly felt like a warm-up.
