Under the Ghaf Tree

Under the Ghaf Tree is not only a book but a short documentary series that brings the traditions and culture from the book to life through intimate portraits of individuals whose lives are deeply rooted in heritage. Shot on Super 8mm, each short film explores a different aspect of UAE life. This series is a visual continuation of the book, offering a cinematic lens into the everyday guardians of culture across the Emirates.

Very special thank you to Mubaraka ofc but also @allisonsam who not only pushed me to finally make this film but actively helped in the process every step of the way
