A woman reunited with her adoption coach, Georgia Governor-elect Keisha Lance Bottoms, bringing a personal connection into the spotlight after a landmark election. The reunion highlights a role in the woman’s life beyond Bottoms’ career in public office. The former Atlanta mayor made history Tuesday as the first Black woman elected governor in the United States. Her victory also makes her Georgia’s first woman and first Black person elected governor. The win returns the governor’s office to Democratic control for the first time in more than two decades. #KeishaLanceBottoms #Georgia #BlackHistory #Adoption
U.S. Vice President JD Vance made a lengthy post on 𝕏 today, with his explanation of why the Republicans faired worse than expected in yesterday’s Midterm elections. Some key points: - Vice President Vance readily admitted that voter turnout, while good, did not merit success for Republicans due to voters voting g for the other side. - Vance attributed the Republicans’ lacking success yesterday to 4 main things the war with Iran, cost of living/inflation, America First movements, and the administration’s relationship with Israel. Vance would go on to hone in on the war with Iran, citing it as the primary reason for the loss yesterday.
A California startup is developing a 7-foot chainsaw-wielding centaur robot designed to enter places too dangerous for humans. 🤖🪚 Called Threehalves, the robot is being developed by Satyress Robotics in Auburn, California. It combines a humanoid upper body with four legs for stability on rough terrain. The goal is to help workers operate safely in hazardous environments, including wildfire zones, collapsed buildings, and dangerous forestry sites. A human operator would control the robot using joystick-style controls. Its modular arms are designed to accept interchangeable tools such as chainsaws, drills, and screwdrivers, allowing skilled workers to perform dangerous jobs from a safer location. Even its unusual appearance serves a purpose. Cameras inside its horns are intended to help operators track its limbs and tools, while mechanical failsafes are designed to lock its joints if the robot loses air pressure or motor control. The project is still in the prototype stage, with no confirmed commercial release date. Its creator, Beau Gaston, says the goal is to protect workers from dangerous conditions rather than replace them. Be honest, if this thing walked out of the smoke to rescue you, would you feel relieved or terrified? 💀 Follow @longliveai for more AI, robotics, and future technology updates.
