Democrat Gina Hinojosa has defeated incumbent Republican Governor Greg Abbott in the Texas governor’s race, according to CNN, denying Abbott a fourth term. Hinojosa, a current state representative from Austin, will be the first Democratic governor of Texas since Ann Richards left office in 1995.
