The hard truth is ⬇️

You’re Constantly questioning if it will ever happen.

That’s been one of the hardest pills to swallow as we’ve navigated infertility, adoption, and surrogacy—the reality that you can miss out on having a family because of money.

This is a topic people don’t like to talk about. Most hear that adoption or IVF is “expensive,” and their response is usually, “Well, kids are expensive—get used to it.”

But what they don’t understand is… we are paying for a chance. A freaking chance.
Not a guarantee. Not a sure thing.

And often, we are paying for multiple chances and pursuing multiple options in the hope that just one might finally lead us to our baby.

The average cost of one IVF cycle in the U.S. is $15,000–$30,000.
The average cost of adoption is $65,000.
And that is for a chance—not a guarantee.

We chose to pursue both adoption and embryo adoption/surrogacy, knowing it meant splitting our resources—telling ourselves it gave us a better shot that at least one path might work out. But then you get an adoption case. You see the profile. You feel that pull… and you have to say no—because of money. And you sit there questioning everything.

How can a piece of green paper be the thing keeping me from my baby? From my family?
How is this the price?
How is this even where we are?

Good job or not, the position infertility puts you in hurts—physically, emotionally, financially. This sh** is draining in every way possible.

One day, when we’re on the other side of this, I will start a nonprofit solely to help families pay for IVF, adoption, surrogacy—whatever it takes to bring their baby home. Because the pain of having to say no to the very thing you’ve been on your knees begging God for… simply because of money… is a sting that no one should have to carry on top of infertility.

I’m going through this right now!! All we want is to have another baby after birth complications (hysterectomy) and of course I’m so grateful for my daughter but when all you want is to give her a forever best friend and you can’t because it’s so incredibly expensive….

I don’t understand why it costs so much to adopt. There are so many BEAUTIFUL families out there who want to adopt children who need homes but just can’t because it’s such a long and costly process. SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE!

I wish I could be a surrogate. My babies came at 36 weeks and one was a c section so I’m disqualified. I still wonder if I could do it for someone personally even though I gave birth “pre term” I never had any complications during pregnancy
