Being black pilled is more than just losing faith in politics, society, or the institutions that claim to represent us. It is the realization that the world we were taught to believe in is often far different from the world that actually exists. It is watching the same promises get broken, the same lies get repeated, and the same powerful people escape accountability while ordinary people are left to deal with the consequences. At some point, you begin to question everything. You question the political system, the media, the culture, and the institutions that were supposed to protect the values upon which society was built. You begin to recognize how easily public opinion can be manipulated, how quickly principles are abandoned for convenience, and how often the illusion of progress disguises the reality of decline. The hardest part about being black pilled isn’t necessarily discovering these things. It’s realizing how little seems to change once they’re exposed. Scandals come and go. Politicians rise and fall. The headlines change, but the underlying problems remain. People become so accustomed to disappointment that corruption, dishonesty, and moral decay begin to feel normal. Eventually, the constant cycle of false hope and disappointment creates a sense of detachment. You stop believing that every election will save the country. You stop expecting powerful institutions to suddenly develop a conscience. You stop assuming that the people in charge have the best interests of ordinary citizens at heart. 2026 NYC marathon. If you asked me a few years ago about running a marathon I would’ve said it’s completely impossible. I had always wanted to and it had always been in the back of my mind, but I truly didn’t believe I had it in me. And now I’m a 2x marathon finisher 🥹 On Sunday, at mile 15, I wondered how I’d feel if I didn’t cross the finish line. I had barely trained, I was totally underprepared, and my body was literally seizing up. There’s no way I can finish this, I thought. But I hit that wall of sound coming off the Queensboro and it was like I floated outside of my body. I decided to just keep going until I physically couldn’t move. And then I was at mile 20. 21. 24. There was no way I would quit now. I crossed the finish line and I did it with my entire heart and soul. If there’s anything I’ve learned through this experience it’s that if you show up for yourself and trust yourself enough to be pushed past your limits then you’ve already won. 🤍
